Todd McDonald
Managing Partner

Todd McDonald has been practicing SEO for companies ranging from small startups to Fortune 500 companies since 2009. Todd started out working for himself before joining AudetteMedia (now Merkle) in 2010, where he worked as an SEO specialist before moving into link development and eventually holding the role of Director of Link Strategy at RKG. Todd managed the link development department of RKG, which consisted of multiple content development members and strategists, the social media team and link building specialists. He also developed a proprietary method for developing link strategies that is still used by RKG today. Todd has written on the RKG Blog, been included in numerous Search Engine Land search recaps and guest posted for industry-leading tool companies such as Buzzstream. He's also spoken at multiple search marketing events and conferences, including the OMMA Social Data conference and the RKG Summit.

Spends free time: driving WRX STI, hiking, Medford economic development.

Joanna McDonald

Joanna McDonald is a search professional with a deep passion for client partnerships and a supporting retention record. She’s a problem solver who digs deep to uncover answers and make sure the best solution is being put forth. She began gradually seguing into search via freelance writing work in 2009 and made it her career in 2011 when she joined AudetteMedia. She spent several years as a search consultant at RKG, now Merkle, most recently as an SEO account manager advising household brands on search strategy and technical problems. Joanna’s experience is broad, ranging from devising search strategies for small startup websites to resolving complex technical issues for large online retailers. She loves the challenges and unique puzzles each site and vertical present. Joanna’s specific areas of expertise are SEO for ecommerce sites and site/platform migrations. Her “leave no stone unturned” approach lends itself well to ensuring all the potential issues are sussed out and discussed prior to a new site launch. Find her on LinkedIn.

Favorite things about SEO: digging through crawl results, finding weird problems and solving them, nerding out with clients over said weird problems.
Spends free time: building and rehabbing furniture and blogging about home renovation. Likely to be found at Home Depot or in the garage on the weekend.
